HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — HAWA Expo 2023 (Ho Chi Minh Export Furniture Fair) is set for Feb. 22-25 and will feature the cooperation of five wood processing industry associations across Vietnam.
Leaders from Viforest, HAWA (Handicraft and Wood Industry Assn.), BIFA, DOWA and FPA Binh Dinh met this week to launch a strategic cooperation for joint development and trade promotion activities. In addition, the promotions for the group will be attributed under one name, Viforest Fair.
The goal of the joint trade promotion is for Vietnam’s wood processing industry to reach export levels $20 billion by 2025.
The first event of the cooperative effort is the HAWA Expo, with some 1,600 booths and nearly 200 export furniture manufacturers and taking place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center.
The Expo is a kick-off event of a series of furniture fairs throughout Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and China. After the close of this first event, show organizers will launch on Feb. 27 and 28 a factory visit program to help international buyers look at large manufacturing plans in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
Nearly 1,000 attendees have registered for the upcoming Expo, from 18 countries and territories.During the show, features will include the ASEAN Furniture Pavilion, the Hoa Mai Design Award, a row of indoor and outdoor furniture manufacturers in Binh Dinh, sourcing support for attendees, networking cocktail, a series of specialized workshops, and evening showroom visits (HawaExpo After Dark).
